Held at Auchenharvie Ice Rink in Stevenson, Scotland on Thursday 7th October 2004.
This friendly annual event was revived by the ICA in 1994 but was first played in 1861.
Originally we hoped to play it alternating between Irish and Scottish ice rinks,
however we could not provide ice time in Ireland this year so
for the fourth year running Stevenson Ice rink hosted the event. As always it was a fun & sociable occasion.
The Trophy is the Belfast Medal hanging in a wooden curling stone. The medal was originally played for between Belfast Union and RCCC.
The competition was played on two rinks. The ICA curlers were
* Tony Tierney,
* Jim Winning,
* Christine Furey,
* Liz Knox.
* David McClure,
* John Furey,
* Garreth McClure,
* Conor McClure.
This year games were closely fought with Tony Tierney's team winning 6-5 and
David McClure's team losing 5-6.
This resulted in a peel due to the scoring being based on shots up only.
The ICA therefore retained the trophy.
