Held at Auchenharvie Ice Rink in Stevenson, Scotland on Tuesday 21st October 2008.

This friendly annual event was revived by the ICA in 1994 but was first played in 1861. Originally we hoped to play it alternating between Irish and Scottish ice rinks, however we cannot provide ice time in Ireland at the moment, so for the seventh year running Stevenson Ice rink hosted the event.

The Trophy is the Belfast Medal hanging in a wooden curling stone. The medal was originally played for between Belfast Union and RCCC.

The competition was played on two rinks. The ICA curlers were
* Tony Tierney, David Smith, Dave White.
* Marie O'Kane, Carolyn Hibberd, John Furey.

The ICA's teams were both a man short but Tony's team won 10-9 and Marie's team peeled 10-10, so by the narrowest of margins we won the trophy back.

Ardrossan Castle were extremely hospitable as usual and the games were enjoyed by all & played in the best of spirit. After the match both teams repaired to the bar for a drink.

Tony Tierney from the ICA committee, thanked Ardrossan Castle for their hospitality and suggested that Greenacres host the event next year.
