Held at Garmisch-Partenkirchen 9-17th December 2005.

This was the second European Curling Championships for Ireland since official recognition by the ECF & WCF in 2003 and we entered both a womens & mens team.

Our Mens team played in the A league after their dramatic promotion from the B league in Bulgaria last year. Our Womens team continue the challenge in the B League.

The Irish National Mens team competing were
* Peter Wilson,
* Robin Gray,
* Peter JD Wilson,
* John Jo Kenny,
* Douglas Dryburgh.
Ireland's men played well with four wins and five defeats, finishing in joint sixth position. This secured them a place at the World Mens Curling Championships at Lowell, Massachusetts, USA in April 2006.

The Irish men’s team included Dublin residents Peter Wilson, a former Scottish Junior and World Junior champion, and Robin Gray (also a former World Junior and European medalist). The other team members (John Jo Kenny, PJD Wilson, and Douglas Dryburgh) live and curl in Scotland and England but qualify through their Irish fathers.

Men's Results - Finland 3-2 Denmark 6-8 Norway 2-9 Switzerland 8-6 Scotland 5-6 Sweden 5-7 Italy 9-4 Russia 3-1 Germany 4-7

The ICA National Womens team competing were
* Fiona Turnbull,
* Louise Kerr,
* Jane Paterson,
* Marie O'Kane,
* Mary Kerr.
The women’s team beat Kazakhstan, Bulgaria and Estonia to earn them joint seventh place with spain in the B section.

Women's results - Germany 4-14 Bulgaria 8-7 France 5-11 Kazakhstan 10-3 Estonia 10-1 England 4-11.
