Held at Greenacres Ice Rink
in Scotland on 9-11th November 2007.
The 4th Gormac Irish International Bonspiel attracted twenty teams this year from far and wide, including Europe.
The Polish girls team was here for the second year and a new mixed team from Andorra on their first visit.
The competition was also well supported by teams from all over Scotland and three teams from Ireland completed the entry.
Friday the 9th saw the opening games played on superb ice followed by a stovie supper and a calcutta auction in the evening.
On Saturday play resumed at 10.30 am through to 8pm and then followed by a dinner and entertainment till the 'wee sma hours'.
An early start on Sunday found some teams toiling after the Saturday evening party, however everybody completed their fixtures with three finals taking place. Ireland won the high road and low road finals.
Peter Wilson and his team of Johnjo Kenny, PJ Wilson and Neil Fyfe, defeated Craig Reid's Galleon team on the last stone.
Tony Tierney with David Whyte, David Smith and John Burns, defeated Garry McFarland's team from Braehead by three shots
in the low road final.
In the middle road final, John Wilson's Stranraer team defeated Jim Beckett's Greenacres team in a one sided affair with the game finishing at the 6th end.
The Irish Curling Association wish to express their sincere gratitude to Gormac Coachworks of Renfrew and Barral Sheppard Insurance Services, Paisley for sponsoring this event.
The organising committee hope to increase next years entry to twenty four teams,such was the popularity of the competition.
