Held at Atholl Ice Rink,
Pitlochry, Scotland in conjuction with the Acarsaid Hotel
on 24th to 26th February 2006
This is the 9th annual bonspeil and has established itself as an enjoyable occasion with all of the ICA members
and fellow curlers.
This year's event was made all the more successful with the inclusion
of the Polish Ladies National Team. The girls from Warsaw accepted the
invitation after friendships were formed with members of the Irish Ladies Team
during the Europeans in Sofia and Garmisch.
The challenges of the Atholl rink proved relatively simple to curlers whose
weekly games are played from 12 to 2AM on an ice hockey rink!
To develop their game the girls travel to events across Europe but to play in
Scotland, the home of curling, was a special thrill for them.
The Acarsaid Hotel were excellent hosts for the event which included
an excellent dinner and scottish dancing on the Saturday night.
Everyone enjoyed 4 games of curling which was scored using
the schenkel system and split into high and low roads on the Sunday.
