MD lost game 7 but qualified

Final round robin game for the Irish duo at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in Lethbridge, CanadaĀ šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦.

Although the game was lost to Norway, they did manage to get the last space in the qualifying teams. WCF says “The 16th team to qualify was then decided by looking at the draw shot challenge results of all the teams that finished in fourth place, across the groups. Ireland earned this 16th position with a draw shot challenge (DSC) result of 20.13cm, which was better than Japan, Australia, England and Slovenia.”

The team willĀ now play Korea in the 1/8 final round on Friday at 9am.

Senior Men game 7

“Phew!! Qualified second in our group for the Quarter Finals despite a poor result against Australia. A slightly hollow feeling having lost but starting to buzz ready for tomorrow. Go Team Ireland!!”

They have a tough final round robin game up next againstĀ group leadersĀ Australia, who have already qualified.

Disappointing to lose our first game against the Swiss this morning. Pretty much a one end game where they scored 4. We played well enough so still looking forward towards qualification.
