2014 Opening Bonspiel @ Lanarkshire Ice RInk

This is the ICA’s main opening bonspiel of the season and a chance for all members to get together and catch up on events throughout the summer.

For this bonspiel, attending members are divided up into six rinks who are drawn to play against one other rink.

The bonspiel will be followed by a meal.

Irish Mixed Doubles Championship @ Dumfries Ice Bowl
Dec 6 – Dec 7 all-day

Entries are requested from mixed gender teams of 2 to participate in this qualifying competition to represent Ireland in the World Mixed Doubles Championships in Sochi, Russia on 18-25 April 2015. (dates not confirmed as yet).

Closing date for entries is 15th November 2015

All participants must be eligible to represent Ireland.

Teams will be ranked at the end of the competition and the highest ranked team will be invited to represent Ireland at the World Mixed Doubles.

There is no prior commitment required to travel to Sochi for this as the WCF entry date falls after our playdowns. Any team that does commit to go following the championships will then be bound by that commitment.

Playing schedule will be determined once the number of teams is known.

Irish Mens Championship Playdowns @ Dumfries Ice Bowl
Mar 6 – Mar 8 all-day

Irish men’s Championship Playdowns will take place in Dumfries on 6th, 7th and 8th March 2015.

Two  teams competing are:

  • Peter Wilson, Andrew Gilmore, Alan Mitchell, Tony Tierney
  • James Russell, John Furey, Johnjo Kenny, Arran Cameron, Eoin McCrossan

The winners qualifying to represent Ireland in the European C League in Champery, Switzerland 12th-19th October 2015. If successful in qualifying from the C league, the European B league will be in Ejsberg, Denmark from Fri Nov 20, 2015 – Sat Nov 28, 2015.
