“Phew!! Qualified second in our group for the Quarter Finals despite a poor result against Australia. A slightly hollow feeling having lost but starting to buzz ready for tomorrow. Go Team Ireland!!”

Senior Men game 5

Ireland’s Senior Mens teams suffer their first defeat to Switzerland in the round robin game at the 2017 World Senior Curling Championships in Lethbridge, Canada 🇨🇦. Bill Gray sums up:

Disappointing to lose our first game against the Swiss this morning. Pretty much a one end game where they scored 4. We played well enough so still looking forward towards qualification. Kazakhstan this afternoon and Australia tomorrow morning stand in the way. Photo to prove that its not just the front end that sweep!!

Ireland’s Senior Men – Game 3 v Italy

Peter Wilson and the team overcame a gutsy Italian side this morning in Lethbridge to record a 6-2 win in 7 ends.

The scores were tight all the way to the 6th end when Peter played a great run back double to pick out the Italian counter to score 4. This pretty much sealed the game and handshakes were offered after a stolen single in the 7th. Next up Israel at 4.30pm Lethbridge time when the boys try to finish day 4 with a 4-0 record.
